BaseCamp Not Displaying Topo East

Greetings. I have installed BaseCamp 2.09. I have MapSource on the PC and have MetroGuide V5 and older 100k topo Maps. The metroguide is on the hard drive, the topos have to have the CD in the drive to be used in MapSource or BaseCamp. For some reason, BaseCamp won't display the Topo-East maps. If I select any of the other Topo regions from the top left drop down, the region will show up and depending on the zoom level, you'll be prompted to insert the disk. I cannot select Topo-East. It is in the list of maps, but if you try to select it, it won't "take" - the display in the drop down will immediately go back to whatever map you were on. It definintely shows up as a map product. Disk is fine - never asked to insert the disk, however. Any ideas? Thanks.

I can't answer the question fully, but I do know a trick for not needing to have the disc in the drive. The discs will have folders on them labeled East and West respectively... copy those to a place on your hard drive, then drill down into the registry and change where Mapsource looks for the data. I don't know it off the top of my head, but it's not hard to find - HKEY LOCAL MACHINE>SOFTWARE>Garmin or something like that. Works great!

This works if you are comfortable editing the registry, but there is an easier way. Before installation, copy the entire contents of the CD to your hard drive. Run the installer from the hard drive. All the paths should be correct in the registry, and won't need to insert the disks again.

Thanks for the replys. It isn't intuitively obvious to me what settings I change in the registry. So that probably isn't a good solution. I tried a reinstall of BaseCamp w/o success. Prior to uninstalling BaseCamp and MapSource (the only way I know to remove the maps - there is probably another way) and then try to copy contents of the 3 topo 100 disks to hard drive (dump them all in the same directory?) is there any insight into what might actually be causing the problem of BaseCamp not really allowing the selection of Topo-East? Thanks!

Just to tie this up. This is fixed by downloading the topo basemap patch: http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=209
