BaseCamp v MapSource

Tried a search but ....

What is the benefit of using BaseCamp if have MapSource except that there is a file folder so can see the GPSr in BC?

So those that buy a 400T can view the topo maps on BaseCamp for free while those of us that bought a 400C have to spend an additionad 30 dollars for HomePort?

That does not make cents to me!
