BirdsEye folder vanishes when connected to computer a second time

I was sent a replacement 67i because of an issue with Birdseye Imagery. The new device suffers the same issue. This is the problem.

I hook the new device up to my Windows 11 computer and everything works fine. I launch express, it's all good. I launch basecamp and everything is good. I select an area and create a birdseye image, and when downloading is completed the image transfers to my 67i just fine. In the left panel I can see that the file now exists on my device. If i go to the mounted internal storage and look at the folders on the 67i, I will now see a "BirdsEye" folder in which I can see the birdseye image, that I just transferred, as a .jnx file. At this point everything is good. I disconnect my device from my computer and navigate to map manager and Outdoor Maps + and i can see, and access, the transferred birdseye image. Works fine...seems awesome.

BUT...When I decide to hook my device back up to my computer this is where I run into problems. I launch basecamp and my device is recognized just fine. But if i click on my device in the left panel and look for the imagery I successfully transferred the first time, it will not be there. If I then try to transfer another Birdseye image from basecamp to my device I get this error

"there was a problem communicating with GPSMAP 67i An error occurred while sending the following file(s):"

At this point if I check the mounted internal storage I will see that the "BirdsEye" folder itself is no longer there. The available storage space on the device will reflect that the "data" is still (somewhere?) on the device though, and this is confirmed when the device is disconnected from the computer and I navigate to Outdoor Maps +. I can still see and access the original birdseye image I successfully transferred the the first time. Even though the Birdseye folder containing the .jnx file is no longer there.

Now at this point the only way to transfer new birdseye images from basecamp to my device is to reset the device. And then the process just repeats itself. I can only successfully transfer birdseye images the first time I hook the device up to my computer after a reset. I have gone through this on 3 different computers with two different 67i's and I get the exact same result.

I should mention that routes, waypoints, etc. all transfer just fine through all of this. The issue is limited to Birdseye imagery.
