Lost all data in BaseCamp

HI,

Today, when I opened BaseCamp, for no apparent reason all my data was gone :-( Unfortunately I do not have a backup but it seems the data base files are still on my computer in a directory ...\Garmin Basecamp\Database\4.7.

I have tried to import import the AllData.gdb but it gives me an error -"Unsupported version". I'm running BaseCamp version 4.7.5.

Any tips or tricks to solve this would be highly appreciated. RGDS//Peter

  • Check in settings where BaseCamp is looking for the data, either you've deleted the files somehow or you've changed the setting so BaseCamp isn't pointed at the correct location. If that AllData.gdb file is your data then it's a simple matter of ensuring BaseCamp is looking at the correct folder.

  • Hi,

Thank you for your reply. Following your advice I found that BC was still pointing at the correct file location. In that file location there was two sets of files, for instance "AllData.gdb" and "AllData-MY_PC_NAME.gdb". Either BC or OneDrive have created this additional set of files. Nevertheless, I deleted AllData.gdb (and the alike) and renamed all other files (removing the MY_PC_NAME part) and now everything works fine again. Lesson learned - take backup at regular intervalls :-)

  • Great. I'll close this thread
