I have downloaded and installed the Basecamp software without a problem, but when I try to run Basecamp I get this message ... "There is a problem with the Product TigerData installation. Please re-install Product TigerData and start Basecamp again." I have searched the Garmin site and cannot find a reference to TigerData. I have Topo US 2008 data on my PC and also Mapsource so I think I should be able to run Basecamp. What do I need to do to resolve this problem?
Unfortunately BaseCamp is not guaranteed to work with 3rd party mapping products. If the Tiger Data product cannot be uninstalled via the control panel and you are comfortable using the Windows Registry Editor you can try the following. You should always backup your registry before attempting any kind of registry manipulation.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Garmin\MapSource\Families and delete the key that references the Tiger Data product. That will prevent BaseCamp from seeing the product and should allow it to launch.
