Direct download http://www.garmin.com/software/BaseCamp_208.exe
or the in-app update will be available shortly.

List of changes:
1. Added localization for the Traditional Chinese and Japanese languages.
2. Added 2D display of products that don't contain elevation data.
3. Improved zooming with mouse scroll wheel.
4. Corrected issues detecting removable drives.
5. Corrected issues Geo-Tagging photos.
6. Corrected issue with the Recenter Map screen marker not displaying correctly in the 3D view.
7. Corrected issue with printing around the Anti-Meridian at low zoom level.
8. Importing GPX files now preserves track notes.
9. Improved rendering performance of selected map products.
  • Could you implement correct rendering of TYP attributes out of center please?

Mapsource 6.15.7 corrected this bug (of course like with most rendering problems Mapsource 6.13.6 still does it mighty fine).

This bug affects the rendering of maps like "Garmin Transalpin 2.0" or my maps...
There are even lines dropped (which display fine in Mapsource and on any GPS with TYPfile support).

    Correct Mapsource 6.15.7:

    Incorrect as in Basecamp 2.08:
    " />">

    Hi ZHENKEL.
Would you confirm and comment why you back to older USB driver (ver. 2.2.1.0), please.
This version overwrite newer USB driver (ver. 2.3) installed on PC during BaseCamp 2.0.8 installation.
    Any special reason ?

    @ OPENMTBMAP.ORG

Thanks for the feedback and we'll look at incorporating those changes in a future version of BaseCamp

    @ BEETLE-M

I'm contacting our installer team if they have any insight into what may be going on. My testing so far has correctly installed the 2.3.0 version when running the 2.0.8 installer. Where are you seeing the driver version listed as 2.2.1 after install?

    @ZHENKEL
I can see it in BaseCamp's option: Help->About. Please see attached screenshot

We're still investigating the root cause of how this could have happened. In the meantime please download the stand alone package for the 2.3 drivers from http://www.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=591 to bring your system back up to date.

Does not seem to work with transparent maps.

I see the projection distortion problem is still there.

    @ZHENKEL
    Thank you for your suggestion.
I've done it yesterday (reinstalling USB driver 2.3 after BaseCamp ver. 2.0.8 installation) and still same information - screenshot in my previous post.

Can you repeat this problem also at your side or not ?

BTW What is correct grmnusb.sys file localization for BaseCamp ?

I reported two with ver. 2.3:
    C:\Program Files\Garmin\USB_Drivers\I386
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRVSTORE\grmnusb_8E661E05C.....

And two folders with ver. 2.2.1:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers
    C:\Garmin\USB_Drivers\I386

Anyway all is working fine: MapSource, BaseCamp, POILoader so ... take your time.

Looks like PC BaseCamp 2.08 does not have the "create route from track" option that the Mac version 2.1.1 has.

I am doing more offroad work with my Zumo 550 and am looking for a way to convert pure offroad tracks to a route without bumping into the 250 pts or so conversion limit of the 550. When there is an underlying road in the mapset there really is no conversion limit for track conversions in my experience.

When will the PC version have the Mac capability and are there any limitations?

Thanks for your suggestions to improve BaseCamp.

For each release we do our best to maintain the same set of features between the Mac and PC versions of BaseCamp. Unfortunately due to various issues we cannot always be 100% synchronized. The route->track feature certainly falls into this bucket, and we hope to have this included in a future version of PC BaseCamp.
