Basecamp can not communicat with Kenwood Garmin navigation DNX7340BTM, it finds the unit but can not recieve or transfere data(waypoints, tracks and routes).
Would it be possible to send me a private message via the forum and attach your GarminDevice.xml file? After attaching the unit to your computer browse to <Drive>:\Garmin\GarminDevice.xml.
This would greatly assist us in troubleshooting the issue you are seeing.
I checked with our group that works on the Kenwood units and the USB port was not designed to support any PC Garmin applications. This is because the USB port is only available for external device connections, not for PC.
Unfortunately this will prevent BaseCamp from working with your unit.
With all my respect to your group that works on the Kenwood units, allow me to inform you this:
1.This unit has two usb ports, one for external device and the other for pc connection, how do think I copied the file you requested(GarminDevice.xml)?.
2.through this usb I can transfer files from and to the unit and pc.
3.If it is only for external device how come mapsource and BaseCamp recognizes the unit and when I plug the usb cable into my pc two options appear on the display of the unit, Garmin Mode and Mass storage Mode.
4.Before this unit I owned an older Kenwood Model DNX7100 for over two years and it has the same usb ports which I transferred and received waypoints, tracks and routs using mapsource and BaseCamp, as well as any file I want from and to my pc using the regular pc copy functions.
