GPSMap60CSx - Internal Storage

Old logs and and tracks saved to internal storage in Basecamp. I have deleted them off of the device, but they remain in the "Internal Storage" file in Basecamp. Each time I try to transfer a new list, the old files also get transferred to the device. How can I delete these tracks and only upload the new ones I wish to have on the device?

  • Unsure exactly what you're asking here? Do you want to keep the old tracks in BaseCamp? If not just delete them in BaseCamp before sending the new ones. If you do just select in BaseCamp the data you want to send.

  • You could try using a clean database. In BC export the list you want to transfer as a GPX file to your computer. Then create a new database (I.e. an empty one) in BaseCamp, import the GPX file, then try to send it to your GPS device. Since the new database has never held the old files it shouldn’t be able to transfer them.

As far as I know the GPSMAP 60CSx is not a mass storage device, which means you have no direct access to its internal memory, so the other suggestion is that you use Garmin MapSource software instead of BC which was designed for devices with a serial data port like the GPSMap60 series.
