New install of BaseCamp 2.04

I put a larger drive in my laptop and did a fresh install and downloaded the latest BaseCamp 2.04. I noticed that instead of telling me I needed .netFramework it started to download it automatically, however it seems to be downloading the wrong version as it errored out saying it needed .net installed before it could install the service pack then quit the install. Now if I try to install BaseCamp it thinks .net is installed already skips that step and finishes the basecamp install then can't run because .net isn't installed. neither .net or basecamp left an uninstall option either so I can't uninstall and attempt to reinstall.
Can you tell me what version of .net 2.04 needs and I'll try to download the full .net install.

Err, sorry, make that 2.07
  • Ok, I kept messing with it, the requirements page seems to be out of date http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=4435 it says .net 2.0 sp1 which I have but the basecamp install downloads 3.5sp1 then says it can't install because I don't have 3.5 so it looks like its just downloading the service pack and not the whole package.

The requirements page is correct, the minimum required version is .NET 2.0 with service pack 1. It is possible that an aborted install could leave your machine in a state where the files are present but the upgrade wasn't recorded correctly in the registry.

The .NET 3.5 install that is included with BaseCamp will install from a completely new machine to the latest versions of both .NET 2.0 (SP2) and .NET 3.5 or patch the components already installed.

If you are having problems with the included version it may be helpful to download the individual installers and service packs directly from Microsoft.

Sorry for the difficulties you're experiencing
