can't install TOPO U.S. 24K Southwest v2 to etrex 30

TOPO U.S. 24K Southwest v2

DVD maps installed and functioning in Basecamp. I uninstalled maps from the unit to install on an SD card. I am unable to re-install to the unit, to the unit with SC card installed or to the SD card using a reader. All attempts give the following dialog:

Tried re-installing and remove/reinstall, no joy.

My 3.0 North Central 24K v3 topos install through the download process without issue.

I've run chkdsk on both the unit and the card.

I've reformatted the card and tried installing with and without the v3 maps installed.

I've used 3 different bi-directional Mini USB cables, including the garmin supplied cable.

Try running JaVaWa's GMTK program to see if that identifies any issues

Installed and ran GMTK, no problems identified.

Then I'm unsure what the issue is. How old though is your DVD as that could be the issue.

Copyright on it is 2009. It worked perfectly, I as able to move the SW maps on and off as needed due to space limitations. Then when I got the North Central mapset v3 download and an SDcard last year, I couldn't get the download maps to work until I removed the DVD maps. Now I can't get the sw maps back on the device, sd card, anything. F'ing useless. Seems like planned obsolescence so that I will drop even more money on new maps. Base Camp gripes at me every time I fire it up. It mostly sucks because I'm hunting the CO/WY border in a couple of weeks and can't get CO and WY maps on my device...

Thanks for your assistance by the way SUSSAMB. Is it possible to copy the maps directly from he DVD to the device without using the installer? I don't see any .img files on the disk...

I don't believe so. You may find someone who can help here, as it's mainly US based so has more experience of your map http://www.poi-factory.com/
