Can't see maps on Basecamp

I have a new garmin gpsmap 67. Basecamp can see the device but not the maps. I can see the maps on the device itself, but not in basecamp. I have tried different cables and different computers. Basecamp also says that it can't transfer tracks, routes or waypoints.

What maps are on your device? Note that some newer devices may not work with BaseCamp, but I'm not familiar with the 67.

I've installed an sd card with all the UK 1:25k OS maps. I can see them on the unit. I've tried setting USB mode to Garmin and Basecamp can only see the model number, setting it to MTP and Basecamp sees a list of files but doesn't recognise them as maps - they have unintelligable names. I've seen an on-line tutorial using a 67i with Basecamp which can clearly see the maps, so I'm assuming there is something I've not set up properly (maybe?). I've also tried using memorymap and that can't transfer data either, also tried a couple of other mapping tools with same results.

The GPSMAP 67 should work with Basecamp on Windows, I'm using one myself.

Make sure the GPSMAP is set to MTP, the Garmin mode won't work.

Does the GPSMAP 67 show up correctly in Windows Explorer? And is the SD card an original Garmin purchased SD card?

What version of Basecamp are you on?
