Basecamp (most recent version) is recently not working: .NET issue

Basecamp (most recent version) is recently not working. When I try to start it, I get this message: "There is a problem with the MIcrosoft .NET installation. Please uninstall and reinstall all versions of the Microsoft .NET Framework." I am running WIN 11.

  • And here is the odd thing: I am running Basecamp 4.7.3 on an older laptop, also WIN 11 and also with .NET Framework 4.8 update, just like the new laptop noted above, and the old Basecamp works. I may try to reinstall the old 4.7.3 on the new laptop.

  • Looks like Basecamp 4.7.5 does not handle the newest .NET Framework 4.8?

  • FWIW, I installed Basecamp 4.7.5 on a new Windows 11 Pro laptop yesterday.  I did not allow it to install .NET curious to see whether it would work with the v4 that came preinstalled.  It installed and started up fine.  I was able to install the map on my zumo XT to the new laptop via Garmin Express and Basecamp appears to use it just fine.  I was then able to restore data from a backup and was able to configure options as desired.  Routes display fine.  I have actually used Basecamp yet (eg: create or modify routes, export, send to, create tracks, etc.).
