basecamp compatible device

None of this makes sense.

• The maps that work on the 7x are standard “img” maps used on every device.
• BaseCamp uses (can read) “img” maps.
• FIT files are not used for maps at all.
• BaseCamp can read FIT files. 

Ok that's the feedback I got from customer service. Thanks for the clarification.
So according to you, the Garmin topoactive maps I installed on my watch are supposed to be displayed on basecamp? Topopmaps work correctly on my watch but not on basecamp. Because if that's the case I don't need to buy another device to read the topo maps on basecamp. 

I'm looking for a device that allows me to display topo maps on basecamp to create hiking routes, because according to customer service I can't do it with my Fenix 7x pro.

Yes, the maps should work. I’m presuming your watch is plugged into your computer. 

I use a USB drive simulator to make the maps available in BaseCamp. I think there’s often a way of installing the maps on the PC. 

Internet searches suggest your watch will work. Note that it could take a while to index the maps.
