Successful down load to three devices, but repeated "Error" when I try to load to PC to enable use with Basecamp. Anyone else with such problems ? Using latest version of Express, and I have been doing this successfully since 2020.

A number of folks have reported being unable to install maps on PC with Express 7.20.0.0. Garmin quickly released 7.20.1.0 to fix some problems but no map update fix was noted in the release notes. If you are not running 7.20.1.0 then try that first. Also try running as admin to install the map if it doesn't work otherwise. The final resort for some has been to downgrade to a version prior to 7.20.0.0.
Thanks to you both..
I found 7,20.1.0 appear as a notification update, so will try that in due course. If that does not work, I may well go back to an earlier version.
I should have looked in the Express section of these forums first, before I posted in the Basecamp area or even contacted Garmin direct, who said nothing about an updated Express, but just referred me to their website which did not tell me anything new. I have been updating maps for years, so am fairly familiar with Basecamp/Express
I already run both Basecamp and Express as admin.
Map now on PC, but you're not going to believe this.........
Tried all the obvious solutions, updated to 7.20.1.0, then deleted Express completely, and tried again, but no success.
Bearing in mind that by now, I had tried using my broadband, and both 'phone and tablet as a wifi hot spot, successfully updated map on devices, but could not achieve a successful map update to PC.
Windows Task manager enables a live view of wifi Tx/Rx data rate, so I tried again whilst monitoring wifi throughput. When initiating an update to PC, Rx data as shown in task manager is coming in at anywhere between 5-20Mbs, depending on Broadband, 4g or 5g. This is reflected in Express, but obviously at a lower data rate as the overhead is removed.
Then the data stops for no obvious reason. Internet connection is up, but no data throughput. "Error has Occurred" !
Tried this and same result whether on broadband or hotspot. (When updating Maps with Express, this wil be the only running user program.)
(This is similar to a problem in the good old days of dial-up. Downloading a large file, the line would disconnect after a period of time, and you would have to try again, but the solution was to open another application, such as Outlook and send an occasional email or two, just to keep the line up.)
So I tried something similar with the map update. Opened up a webpage that has live data, and initiated a map update to PC.
Worked first time....... I now have latest maps on PC.
With successful updates to devices, internet connection OK, and PC OS (Win 10 with all updates) probably OK too. But If I select update PC maps in Express, downloads fail as internet activity is halted arbitrarily ??????
Never had that happen so suspect something in your system is shutting it down. Glad though you got it resolved.
