Nuvi 55 . gpx file from BaseCamp not working.

Greetings all.

Using BaseCamp I have sent a ,gpx file to the .gpx folder in my Nuvi 55. I cannot open it on the device.

Quote from a previous post:

"Tracks in BaseCamp are different to routes. Two different tools to create them, you need to be using the route tool in BaseCamp. If you send a route to your device it will appear in your trip planner app."

So two questions:

1. Can I do the above with a Nuvi 55?

2. If I can, then how do I convert a .gpx track to a route using Basecamp?

You can convert a track to a route by right clicking it in the lower left hand pane and selecting convert track to route. Note however this may result in too many points in the route, recent Garmin On the road devices are limited to 29 viapoints in a route. You will know if your nuvi can accept routes if it has a trip planner app, but as far as I'm aware it does.

I see on the Nuvi 55 user manual that gpx is supported and it has a trip planner app. I have sent the gpx file as a track and route to the Nuvi and can see it on BaseCamp in the folder. But it does not appear in trip planner on the device. Any tips!

I meant to say that with Basecamp I can see the gpx route in the Nuvi folder, but not when I open trip planner on the device.

Your device cannot read tracks so you must send a route. Note my comments above about number of points in a route, how many are in the route you sent. Note it can take a while for routes to appear in Trip Planner.
