Problems exporting a route from basecamp to Montana 700

Hi  all

Sure this is asked a lot but i been creating routes in basecamp using a routable map for a car journey i plan on making. All works in basecamp but when i transfer it to Montana 700 it refuses to load if i have exported it as Driving profile from basecamp. If i go back and put the route activity to direct routing and re export to device it works ok, is this how it should be ?

    Do you have the same map on your device as on BaseCamp? Also what do you mean by refusing to load, what exactly are you doing and where does it 'refuse'?

    Hi mate

    Yes same maps on device. I select where to and go to routes, I click the route I made in basecamp and the device goes back to the map screen without loading the route. If I change the route type to direct routing and re import it to device , select where to go to routes select that route I then get the option to select routing type, I select automotive and then the montana 700 calculates the route and works OK. Not sure why selectibg the route type to automotive before sending it to montana 700 confuses the device ?

    Me neither. This seems more of a device issue than a BaseCamp one though, have you tried a master reset of your Montana?

    I wonder what would happen if you set the route in Basecamp to have custom route options.  To do this, open the "Route Options" tab in route details and then set the activity profile to None.  You will first want the route to have your normal (Driving?) profile so that those None maintains those preferences.  You will see the radio button for the Customize Route Options become active but no "customization" is needed.
