I am looking for campgrounds near the California state line. I do not like to travel in California and am looking for campgrounds east of the California state line. Is there a way to turn on the state lines in basecamp?

There is an option in BaseCamp to determine what is displayed but unless you've fiddled with it in the past everything is on by default so if state lines aren't showing then they aren't on the map.
You can import state borders as GPX or KML files.
There are various sources for the borders but some might be in formats that you’d have to convert.

State lines are considered "Political boundaries" in BaseCamp so go into whatever profile you use and look in the "Lines" section of the "Map Display Features".

Understood, but if the settings are not at default, knowing which option controls state lines may be of value.
