I need to do the whole GE thing again. Someone provided a link years ago to old versions of GE, any know it?
Do I need to do anything to make BC see GE?
Next question, how do I get my custom POI's to show up in BC? (forgot this also)

You could try the reasonably priced BC2GE app which provides the same functionality - see: https://sites.google.com/view/grouteloader/bc2ge?pli=1 BC2GE was last updated on 10/17/22 and has a free 30 day trial period.
An alternative is to export your gpx file to the much more powerful and free web app nakarte.me with choice of four different satellite images including GE and Bing, GE Street View, a large number of map layers including OSM variants and topo maps, overlays (like OSM GPS traces), track plotting tools etc etc.etc. You can then export the updated GPX and import it back into BC.
Info on custom POIs is on the GPSrChive BaseCamp pages and a link is given in the post below.
Afraid I know of no way now to link GE to BC, I now simply export my data as a kml file and open it with GE.
Remember about 6-7 years ago when Garmin officially announced the end of updates to BC and I took them on without any support from you or users on this board because, 'everything was working for everyone then?' Then one user posted a comment "we are only one update from it not working"...so here we are.
BC to GE is one of the most powerful tools of BC. Garmin should just change the link to open Google maps and make it simple.
I've been running GE 7.1.8.3036 with Windows 10 for a long time with no problems except no street view requiring going to Google maps to view
Somewhere (years ago) you posted a link to a site that listed all the old versions of GE to make this work. Do you know where I can find that so I can see if I can make something work? +allory
Unfortunately it's not something Garmin can fix, Google closed it down. The old version of GE now isn't available so that isn't an option either.
I do have a number of older versions of Basecamp. If you have a feel for what vintage you'd like to try I can make several available via Dropbox.
I believe all previous versions of BC can be downloaded from the BaseCamp Software Updates section in the BC pages on the GPSrChive site:
I'm looking for old versions of Google Earth that doesn't auto-update, not old versions of BC
They aren't available anymore, at least I couldn't get any to work a few years back when Google eventually changed it all.

This isn't true. It's possible that Google shut down the particular way BaseCamp used to use. But BaseCamp could easily do what my BC2GE program does.
