Custom waypoints symbol downloaded incorrectly in BC

Hi!

I'm using Garmin GPS-es since 15+ years.

My GPSmap66sr is getting me crazy...

I use the cutom waypoints symbols to quickly map things on the field, so when I mark something, I change only the symbol, and the name (POI number) is increased by the gps.

On the GPS itself all is OK, when I search for waypoints ("spell search" or "select symbol"), I see the correct icons.

But when I DOWNLOAD/transfer the waypoints to PC, all my symbols gets the same, just a small (3x3 px) black dot -named "Waypoint"-, which is the 29-th symbol in the "Markers" category (where are the R, G, B, flag, triangle, squares). It's between the heart icon ("Favorite") and the white square ("Dot, White").

How can I transfer my waypoints to get the correct icons?

BaseCamp doesn't have exactly the same waypoint symbols as your GPS, so it won't always show the same symbol.

Custom WP on GPS can/should match custom WP-s on Basecamp...

And it worked like charm with GPSmap60CSx (yeah... Mapsource;-), but also with 62 and 64.

Anyhow...

I found the issue:

in the GPX files (downloaded from GPS) the symbols are stored by their FILE name [which are used in the CustomSymbols folder @GPS]

<sym>My Drinking Water symbol</sym> ... or <sym>B3 erdeszjelzes</sym> or...

and this is not "understood"/can not mapped by Basecamp ;-((

I will give a try and rename "Custom1", Custom2 or so...

Take a look at the GPSrChive Base Camp tutorial on using Custom Waypoint Symbols at https://www.gpsrchive.com/BaseCamp/index.htm. There is also a specific GPSrChive 66sr user forum on the site if you still have problems.
