Same GPS record shows different distance , in Basecamp it says 15.3 Km, but in Garmin Connect it says 17.18 Km?

I just came back from a hiking with Epix 2.

I opened the GPS track record with both Basecamp and Garmin Connect and they told me

quite different distance. Basecamp said 15.3 Km and Garmin Connect said 17.18 Km.

Why is that ?

There is a bug in BaseCamp which can affect track distance. Delete one of the points in BaseCamp which forces a recalculation and you should get a better result.
