Send to tracks all get changed

When I send a track to a different folder and then edit the track in the new folder, it not only changes the track in the new folder but also my original track, that I did not want changed. Is there a way around this? After sending the track to a new folder, I tried changing the name in the new folder thinking then the original track wouldn't get edited. Instead, it also changed the name in the original folder.

Yes, you need to copy the track first by right clicking it and selecting Copy track. BaseCamp is based on a database, and like in any database any data you see is simply a pointer to the data, this enables you to have data in numerous lists and folders and if you make changes in one it's repeated throughout. By copying you create a new pointer pointing to new data, so can then edit it without affecting the original data.
