Failing to load gmap* img files

When I call Basecamp it appears to try and load gmapbmap,gmapprom, gmapupdate_activeus. But appears to fail or are these img files being overlaid by newer img files.  Not sure what these three files are. Although I did move them over from the local memory to my microSD card  because I didn't have much memory left.

    It's failing to load those files. The basemap isn't required as BaseCamp has it's own basemap, although it's a very small map and best left on your device.  As for the other 2 what do you see when you look at them? Are they valid maps that you can select on your Etrex?

    Ok that makes sense. So I check the maps on my Garmin and the Garmin allows me to select those maps so the files (*.img)  must be ok. 

    Have a followup you might be able to answer. For every *.img file there are a number of association files

    *.gma

    *.unl

    *.gsd, and

    *.sum

    But not all my *.img files have each of these files. It appears the *.gma and *.unl are important not sure about the other two.

    If you have them they are needed, but not all maps have them.

    As for the maps on your device, so you see 7 maps selectable on your device, or just the 4 in your second screenshot?
