UK OS mapping on basecamp

I am new to Garmin UK based I bought a 66sr with UK OS mapping. When using basecamp for mapping the UK is broken up into different areas on different maps, unfortunately I live on the border of two and the software doesnt seem to move seemlessly accross the two maps is this correct?

If they are separate maps then yes as BaseCamp can only have one map selected at once. I'm surprised though as I have a UK OS map and its not split into parts. Which map do you have and who supplied it?

I have the Topo Great Britain V2PRO 1:25k, it came pre loaded from Outdoor GPS Shop

Strange, but its not a map I have. Go back to Outdoor GPS Shop and ask them if its possible to get a single map file. If not then you're stuck as BaseCamp cannot display 2 maps at once. This may help though www.javawa.nl/osmcombiner_en.html

My new Montana 700 came with the UK OS map, but so far not travelled (or looked at) over an internal boarder.

However, I've been using Memory-Map OS maps for many years. A few years ago MM introduced a new HD version in addition to it's SD range.

Unfortunatly, the HD maps are much larger in size and exceed MM's capability for display, thus multiple maps.

This is a major problem for folk like 3427603. MM have now discontinued their SD range, so I've bought my last OS updates as the larger files take too long to redraw.

Looks like the Garmin maps have a similar problem.
