Remove corrupted import

I just imported a track. When basecamp trys to display the name of the track (by selecting the list which contains this track) it everytime crashes. Due to the fact I created a backup just before I had a workaround, but maybe there is a better workaround than creating a backup before every import.

I can reproduce this bug.

  • I have imported hundreds of tracks and can say this is very unusual behaviour - where did you get the track from?

Will it load okay into the nakarte.me or GPS Visualizer webapps?  If so, you could try duplicating it in nakarte or converting to another GPX in GPS Visualizer and export the duplicate track and import that into BC.

I sometimes have downloaded GPX files from route sharing sites which simply won't load into BC. The problem is usually with additional extensions to the standard GPX format which BC can't read. Converting it using GPS Visualizer or nakarte.me works fine. You could also try GPSBabel.

Another thought is that you could make a folder on a usb drive [USB]:\Garmin\GPX and with BC closed, copy the GPX  file to this folder. When you open BC, it will read the gpx file and you can send it to a List folder. If it is corrupt and crashes BC, you can delete the gpx file using File Manager.
