Can't find any address or city via basecamp

So, I just wanted to plan an MTB route on PC via basecamp for my new and completely set up Garmin Edge 830. It's connected to my PC und fully updated through Garmin express and my smartphone. Unfortunately I can't find any address or just even a city with the search function, although cities and street names are in the map. The only thing I get is my city as a "points of interest" when I choose the Garmin EU map in the left hand menu. So, what exactly am I doing wrong here?

Unfortunately not. I'm using the Garmin Cycle Map EU 2021.20 which came on my Garmin Edge 830 which in itself has address search. And when I look at the purchasable cycling maps they say that they include address search. However for me only the POI search actually works.

How are you trying to search? If you hit Ctrl + A it brings up the address search box.

When I search for a city that way no results whatsoever will show up.

To search for a city use the city search, Ctrl + A is for addresses which is what you originally seemed to want.

What I mean to say is it doesn't matter if I search for a whole address (any address) or just the city, or the country or whatever. Nothing ever shows up. And I believe you mean Ctrl+Alt+A. What do you mean by "city search"? There is no such thing in any of the menus. It's just a part of the address search.

The best way to do a city search is to leave the search field blank.and click on the search icon. Then click on the gear icon next to the close "X" in the search results. Select "Points of Interest" and under "More Options" select Cities.

Enter the name of the city in the Search field and click on Search.

Sometimes the product data cache gets corrupted. Shut down BaseCamp and delete the ProductDataCache folder found at DirveLetter:>users>username>AppData>Local>Garmin>BaseCamp

It should rebuild the folder on the next start-up.
