How to Transfer Basecamp Waypoint Symbols to Garmin Drivesmart

Hello Garmin Basecamp members,

I customized all of my waypoints and symbols in Basecamp and used the "transfer to device" function on Basecamp to upload these to my Garmin Drivesmart, and in many cases the symbol showed up as a pin, not as a home, airport, winery, etc.

How can I migrate not only the waypoints, but also the associated waypoint symbol from my Basecamp to my Garmin Drivesmart?

Afraid you cannot. Unlike handheld devices your device cannot use custom symbols.

Thank-you for your quick response...that is really too bad. Basecamp has wonderful descriptive symbols. I did see online that you can create/upload like ~20 custom symbols, but I am not dedicated enough to do that

Maybe Garmin will develop/support that in the future - it sure would be nice!

They've had years already to do it. Don't hold your breath they ever will.

Note that BaseCamp is basically frozen with respect to any significant changes or enhancements.
