Waypoints duplicating

I've noticed that I am getting duplicates of waypoints appearing. Example: I have an Oregon list and an Idaho list. I see some random waypoints from Idaho showing in Oregon as duplicates. When this first started I thought it was operator error. I then cleaned up each individual list and got rid of the duplicates. Today I saw new duplicates of Oregon waypoints in the Idaho list. These are waypoints I haven't touched in months. I have about 25 lists and it seems to be happening between about six of them. Those six are the ones I've used mostly in the last couple of months.

I'm fearful that my Basecamp software is corrupt and needs to be reinstalled. ugh. Thanks for any ideas.

Where you have duplicates look in the waypoint properties. See if they show as being in more than one list. If they do somehow you've added them to both lists.

Thanks for your reply. The waypoints are duplicates. In the references tab, it shows the waypoint in two separate lists. I have never duplicated a point, I had to look up how to do it. And I don't see a key stroke associated with it - something that I might be doing accidentally. Hum.

I add: I have lots of waypoints, maybe 5,000 - a wild guess, in about 50 lists. And once and awhile the program freezes when I close it. I am using the latest version. And in case a list has gotten corrupted, I have copied the contents of existing lists (the ones I was recently using) into new lists and then I deleted the old list.

If no one has any ideas, I'll report back in a week or two about the status. I'm in the middle of trip planning right now so Basecamp is getting a lot of use.

Update.

I opened Basecamp and about a third of my list had all the waypoints deleted. Fortunately, I had backed up everything a few hours before. I reinstalled Basecamp and all was well for a few hours. Now I am getting it hanging up when I shut down. I've run diagnostics on the computer and don't find a problem. Ugh. You can close this thread. The problem is much bigger than duplicates.
