Basecamp Routes to Drive 51

I created a Route from scratch in Basecamp and sent it to my G. Drive 51.

While the device is connected to Laptop, from inside Basecamp I can see the route sitting in the internal memory of the Drive 51. But the route doesn't show up on the Device when it's unhooked from Laptop and I turn the Device on.

I suspect the Drive 51 doesn't recognize routes created from outside of the device (?). (OR else what am I doing wrong?)

If that is the case, and I create a Route on the Device and then send it to Basecamp. Would there be a quick way to transfer all my route Way and shaping pts from old custom route to the Device route.

And then send it back (overwrite) to Device.

I found my custom BaseCamp sent Routes on the Device (Drive 51). They were in the Trip Planner list. However two save Waypoints also sent to Device were in Saved list. Earlier was thinking Routes were in Saved also on older Nuvi. Will have to dig out old Nuvi and check. Never used the Trip Planner on the Nuvi. Anyhow the Drive 51 seems to be working great, I look forward to getting use it's features.
