How to transfer route from Basecamp to RV 890

Just got a new RV 890. OM says to use Windows File Explorer to transfer files from computer to GPX folder on 890. No mention of Basecamp. Can I still use "send to" in Basecamp and send a route to 890 internal storage like I used to do with my Nuvi 2555? Also, OM says to select "file transfer mode" on 890 when prompted as you connect to computer. 890 does not prompt for "file transfer mode".

Per Garmin document, RV890 is compatible with BaseCamp, so you should be able to send routes if you can get it connected for data transfer. I don't have an RV890, so I'm not sure about the cords, but if it's like the DriveSmart 66 I just bought, the power cord, if it has a USB connector on one end, will not work to transfer data even though you can physically plug it into your computer. You must use a USB data cord, which appears to have been included in the box for your device, and you likely have to plug the other end directly into the device, not through the powered base. These frankly are guesses on my part, but since no one else answered, I thought I'd take a stab... The screen may not say literally "file transfer mode", but may say something like "tap to connect to computer", or you may have to go into "settings" to find that command to select. Good luck.
