Can the screen be fixed so the simulation doesn't keep scrolling the screen?

WHen running a simulation the current point moves along the track and the screen scrolls to keep the current location more or less centered.  Is there a way to have the simulation follow a fixed track on the screen without it scrolling the map?  Remote, but thought Id ask the experts.  Thanks!

  • Are you talking about a device or on BaseCamp? Either way I'm not sure why you would wish to or the current point is likely to scroll off the screen. Perhaps I've misunderstood your question.

  • I didn't explain well.  When viewing the simulation in Basecamp, I display the entire track, say 100 miles of track,  on the screen and it fills the screen east to west, and I do not want the track to move, I want the track to be fixed on the screen,  as the simulation moves the point along the track.  Currently, Basecamp centers the simulation point on the screen hence moving the track.  I will attempt to attach the video to illustrate.  In the video, you will see the track move as Basecamp centers the simulation point and each time I move the track, Basecamp recenters the simulation point.  So what I want is to show an entire track on the screen and view the progress of the simulation as it moves along the entire track.    Probably nothing can be done but thought I'd ask the expert. Whether it's a track or a route it makes not make a difference, the same issue. I also looked at Google Earth and GAIAGPS but neither have the simulation feature that I can tell.  Thanks,

  • Understand now, but I know of no way to do what you want.

  • I just found a way.  double click the track to bring up the "Properties" window.  In the Properties window there is a box for "center map".   What that is checked the track will remain static as the simulation moves the current position.
