running FILE/BACKUP of basecamp starts but gets error that backup file is invalid or read only?

trying to run basecamp 4.7.4 backup from "file/backup. starts but gets error immediately saying backup file (name) is invalid or read only. Any thing I should do to get a backup?

When was the backup created? If via an older version of BaseCamp that can cause issues.

Are you trying to save to the root of a disk such as D:\? That doesn't work with Basecamp.
