Hi all, hope someone can shed some light on a storage issue I've noticed.
I have a DriveSmart 61 with City Navigator Europe NTU 2022.1 v25.10 installed. But, in Base camp it's showing two installations of the same map image but named differently:
One is gmapprom.img and the other is d6210180a.img
Does this mean there are two map image files on the device?
In Garmin Express, the device storage is showing as 69% full, with 4.73 GB free (makes sense if the drive is 16 GB in size).
Windows Explorer reports the internal storage folder has 4.40 GB free of 14.2 GB and showing that there is currently approx.10 GB of storage in use.
I've checked, using file explorer in Windows, but can only find the D6210180A.img in the Map folder with a file size of 2,673,856 KB (2.7 GB), the gmapprom.img file doesn't show up when searched for. When checking the other folders (POI, GPX etc... none of them seem to be particularly large:
Folders properties:
demo = empty, Garmin = 337 MB, GPX = 21.9 MB, Help = 23.1 MB, keyboards = 667 KB, Map = 2.54 GB (ties in roughly with the D6210180A.img file size above), POI = 5.45 MB, Text = 105 MB, Themes = 123 KB, Vehicle = 12.3 MB, Voice = 649 MB
Then there's a couple of .srd files in the root directory that are 2,448 and 2,754 KB each.
All of the above adding up to around 1.2 GB plus the 2.54 GB for the image file = less than 4 GB.
All of the above suggest the duplicate image files showing in Bascamp could be correct, but even if so, what's using up the rest of the storage. On the face of it, there shouldn't be more than around 8 GB in use if there is a duplicate image file (gmapprom.img) of the same size.
If there are two image files on the device, does it need both, can one be removed somehow, therefore reducing storage space in use?
Not having any issues using the device, just bugs me that there appears to be more storage in use than there needs to be??
