Force Basecamp to cross a stream

I plan often routes in MTB and sometimes Basecamp doesn't allow to cross a stream or little river, even if I know there is a bridge or it can be crossed pedaling (2 inches of water!!)

I set always "walking" mode to the track that is more "permissive" but for example on this route he makes a large useless circle instead to go straight

Direct could be an alternative, but too boring to draw the route with hundreds of clicks instead few ones...

I use openmtbmap... could be map faults? See below an example. I want go route down to with the brown path... he force to make the round

Thanks

Sandro

  • You can set route properties so its direct for a portion of it. Open route properties then edit the point on the route where you want to use direct mode, set it to direct activity. Then edit the point from where you want walking activity to start again.

  • Sorry but I don't get...

If I change the route in Direct and have few points, the route will too much simplified and it doesn't follow the real paths.
I tried to edit in direct and then re-set to walking without results.

Please check this video if I'm doing something wrong

BTW the big river to cross is this :-)

    Thanks

  • You don't switch the whole route to direct, you edit the points on the route from where you want direct activity to start and end. The rest of route remains in whatever activity you want.
