Can't edit an existing route in Basecamp

I have several routes on my Nuvi, and in Basecamp I could always open them up and edit them (add invert, waypoints, change the colour, etc.). Now suddenly I cannot do any of this to my existing routes. I created a new route and this one behaves normally.

Here is a screen shot of the options when I right-click on my new route. All functions are available:

And here is what I see when I right-click on an older route. The options are severely limited (I can't even delete it). If I Open the route it appears normal, but all controls are disabled so I cannot change anything.

So what happened to all my old routes that I can't edit or even delete them?

BaseCamp has never been able to alter in any way routes on a nuvi once they've been imported, or indeed any On the road devices. This includes deleting them or editing them. You may be getting confused with routes from your nuvi that you imported into BC, those are editable in BC.
