Nothing to do with BaseCamp, it's simply giving data from the map.
Yeah, that was a poorly worded question. I was looking for how to get Basecamp to show me the speed limits for roads but your comment about the maps got me to realize that the map itself indirectly shows the speed limit because it uses colors and line types to indicate the kind of road.
So interstates and major highways are both orange with interstates having the typical red/white/blue numbers. Lesser highways are in yellow. Collector roads and residential streets are both black lines butt that's okay as both are low speed anyway. Unpaved roads are dashed lines but don't normally have a reliable speed limit anyway.
