Cycle map EU south west doesn't display

The "Cycle map Europe South West", which comes with the Edge 1030+, doesn't display in BaseCamp.

The other maps (I tried North America, Central America, and EU North East) do display.

The issue occurs with the latest as well as an earlier version of the map.

So, the conclusion is that there is something odd with the EU South West map.

All the maps work fine on the device.

I reported the issue to Garmin. After a bit of a run-around, I think I ended up reporting it to the right group.

I do have absolutely the same problem. Is there already a solution?

I thought that it is a problem with my Mac basecamp version. But the exact same problem occurs also using a windows pc with basecamp. Very disappointing as I wanted to plan my bike tours for summer holiday in Italy...

At the moment, the "solution" is to use OSM maps from another source.

Thanks a lot for the immediate feedback. This "solution" will work - really awkward for Garmin. Hopefully they fix it with a map update soon.

I expect it won't be fixed.

The Garmin people I've spoke with tend to blame BaseCamp and say that BaseCamp is pretty-much obsolete.

Just a thought: if you check the affected img file with JaVaWa Imgname, is the file enabled to be visible in BC? https://www.javawa.nl/imgname_en.html

Yes, it is enabled (I know about the Javawa tools).

Disabling "Visible in BaseCamp" tells BaseCamp to just ignore the map file.

BaseCamp isn't ignoring the map. BaseCamp is "doing something" with it but that something isn't working properly.

It sort of looks like BaseCamp thinks the SW EU map is in a different hemisphere.

Maybe the new Garmin Express 7.7.0 update will fix this - it claims to have fixed an issue with maps being locked in BaseCamp after a user installs maps to the computer.

It's not a locking issue. The other maps work fine too.
