On December 20, 2015, mullerh from poi-factory.com came up with an elegant solution to fix the issue between BaseCamp/MapSource and Google Earth Pro. Quickly, many users from different forums started posting the same solution without giving credit to mullerh or cite the source of given solution.
It's almost June 2021 and I can confirm that the same solution applies (if necessary).
Launch Command Prompt as administrator. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Google Earth Pro\client\googleearth.exe" /RegServer [ENTER] OR "C:\Program Files\Google\Google Earth Pro\client\googleearth.exe" /RegServer [ENTER]
I installed and uninstalled (cleaning the registry thoroughly), different versions of BaseCamp and Google Earth Pro and I can confirm that BaseCamp 4.6.2 works with:
• Google Earth Pro v7.1.8.3036 for Windows.
• Google Earth Pro v7.3.1 for Windows (32-bit).
• Google Earth Pro v7.3.2 for Windows (32-bit).
• Google Earth Pro v7.3.2 for Windows (64-bit).
I did not test Google Earth Pro v7.3.1 for Windows (64-bit).
BaseCamp changes made from version 4.6.2 to 4.7.0:

unfortunately I couldn't find an official source for BaseCamp v4.6.2, however the file has the correct digital signature and size and was compiled on the correct date. I used the Wayback Machine to access a copy stored at gawisp.com/perry/mapsource/ and it is the same file.
