I just received upgrade notification of Basecamp v4.74.

Change History:

Fixed zumo connection issue
Various stability and bug fixes

Has anyone installed and tested it?

Thanks all. I just updated and gave it a quick test. No surprises. I have a zumo XT but hadn't experienced the connection problem so can 't confirm whether that is fixed for those who did.

Regarding the Google Earth question, I don't know. I didn't know the integration of Google Earth and Basecamp was possible. I doubt I would ever use it anyway. When I'm working in Basecamp I almost always have a map open in browser (Google Maps or Mapquest) for easier testing of different route options and seeing the businesses available in a specific area.

Basecamp has a feature under VIEW that allows whatever is selected in BC to be viewed in Google Earth. BC launches GE and takes you straight to your selection or entire route. When Garmin stopped updating BC on a regular bases they didn't include this feature in recent updates. To use this feature you need to be using BC V 4.4.6 and Google Earth Pro 7.1.8.3036 (32-bit) so it doesn't auto update to a new version that BC won't work with. Lately this version of GE no longer supports Street View and you need to go another step and select under FILE...View In Google Maps to get Street VIew. This was one of the most powerful features of BC that Garmin no longer supports and sounds like your doing the same thing with Google Maps and Mapquest. If your just checking routes this feature will still work for you if you install the BC and GE versions mentioned.

Unfortunately it wasn't Garmin but Google who prevented this.

Just use Dave Pawlyk’s excellent BC2GE program instead. It does the same with additional features and just needs two clicks. https://forums.garmin.com/apps-software/mac-windows-software/f/basecamp-windows/155431/basecamp-google-earth-copy-and-paste-from-basecamp-to-ge

Run BC2GE. Then, select the item in BaseCamp and copy it. Then, click one of the buttons in BC2GE. The big blue one will work. Or one of the colored ones on the right.

The object will show up in GE.

BC - just upgraded to 4.7.4 today from 4.7.3

GE Pro 7.3.3.7786
