basecamp to google earth

Have Montana 680 and track my prospecting vertures. Get home download to Basecamp. I have tried everything I can think of to transfer my trips to Google Earth and it won't go. Have BC-4.7.3 and GE-7.3.3.7786. Did it a long time ago but can't now. Any help out there? I tried BC2GE but wouldn't work cause 1 part wouldn't load.

Run BC2GE.

Then, select the item in BaseCamp and copy it.

Then, click one of the buttons in BC2GE. The big blue one will work. Or one of the colored ones on the right.

The object will show up in GE.

Unfortunately previous fixes to enable BC to work with GE no longer work as Google have changed GE. The workaround now is to export the data as a .kml file and import that into GE.

Reach out to dpawlyk David Pawlyk the developer of BC2GE as he is very helpful in sorting out glitches. Occasionally I have to restart BC to resolve a copy error, but usually it works flawlessly. Hopefully he will pick up on this thread.

David, I had trouble loading GPS Babel, but finally got it loaded. As said, I have a Montana 680, I prospect and want to save my tracks, riding in my side x side and walking. Have no problem putting it on Basecamp. I used to be able to put on GE and see where I have been where and where I might go next. Just can't seem to do it. I am not computer smart. It was easy before, now?????? FYI, I have BC 4.7.3 and GE7.3.3.7786.

Did you try my BC2GE program?

It makes getting stuff from BaseCamp to GE very easy. It works with any version of BaseCamp and Google Earth.

BC2GE does need GPSBabel but you have that installed already.
