Garmin Basecamp Windows10 is not finding my Garmin gps unit and maps

i was using Basecamp since now close to 2 years with Windows8.1,

yesterday i had to upgrade to Windows10-Home-Version 10.0.19042 Build 19042,

Now Basecamp doesn't find my Garmin gps unit and my maps on an usb stick?

before it did find all ....

i have pluged in my Garmin gps unit with Garmin Explore; and Garmin Explore did an update to my Garmin gps unit,

also i have re-installed Garmin Basecamp (version 4.7.3) too; but it still is not working!?

how do i get my Garmin gps unit and maps into Garmin Basecamp with windows10?

  • Like you I upgraded to Win10, but a few years ago now, and didn't experience the issue you are having. Does BaseCamp work with maps installed to your PC? If so the issue is likely to be how Win10 is handling your USB ports.

  • the software is opening with the useless global map;

    but not finding my Garmin 66S with the paid Australian maps, and the free ones too?

  • As I mentioned, this is likely to be a usb port issue. Have you tried all the ports on your pc, including the ones on the back?

  • Still Not fixed when upgraded my System from Windows 8 to Windows10; some how i can see the Garmin GPS unit, the Garmin Australian Map card, the usb-stick with more maps in the Windows 10 system setup (i can access them with file explorer); but Basecamp 4.7.3 doesn't see them? i had it at 2 different computer professionals places to look at; but they couldn't fix the problem ..... Now i had to buy a New Hard-drive NVME SDD connected trough an USB cable 3.1 and created a Boot-able  Windows 10 onto New Hard-drive NVME SDD, ....... every time i need Garmin Basecamp software, i need to shut down my Windows 10 system (with all other software programs i need), and Switch to the New Booting drive; to the New Hard-drive NVME SDD to start windows 10 again ..... not a good fix ......
