This issue is currently with Garmin support but I thought I would ask here too. The situation is I have traded in, with Garmin UK, an Etrex 30 for an EtrexTouch 35t. Before I sent the old device back to Garmin, I backed up all the BirdsEye Select Files I had on my old device to BaseCamp (over 100 in all). Garmin have kindly given me an active BirdsEye Subscrption that allows me to use BaseCamp to transfer these files back onto the new device. I tried a bulk " send to" but that just crashed so I have been dragging and dropping each file, one at a time, from the folder in Basecamp to the SD card on the new device.
Each time I do so, Garmin checks I have an active subscription and then lets me click OK to move the file. So far, so good. However, sometimes Garmin decides I do not have an active subscription and BaseCamp gives me an error message telling me "BaseCamp failed to activate BirdsEye Imagery for Etrex Touch 35t. Please make sure the imagery has been created for use with this device." Once that has occured, repeating the process for that particular file always fails, or at least it has so far. In effect I seem to have a blacklist of files that Basecamp refuses to move.
All the files i am trying to move are registered to the serial number of the Etrex 30 with 3 exceptions. These are the 3 small BirdsEye example files that came with the Etrex 35 when I took delivery. I had also moved these files from the device to the same back up file as all the other maps. Trying to move these files back also has the same outcome, even though they are registered to the serial number of the Etrex 35.
So far I have tried shutting down and rebooting from cold and using Garmin Express to clear the cache files on the Etrex 35 by deleting the upload history. I should add I am running BaseCamp 4.7.3 for windows and the Etrex 35 is running software version 4.50
I have sent screenshots to Garmin support and am waiting developments but if anyone on this forum has an idea, I would love to hear it.
