Microsoft Surface PRO - not able to install BASECAMP

Hi,

I just bought myself a new Garmin 1030 Edge.

But as I wanted to download Basecamp on my surface Pro, it's not working at all. I saw several messages about installing drivers and so on but I never succeeded in actually installing and opening the program.

Can anyone please help me.

Did you read the system requirements

Windows® Requirements

IBM-compatible computer running Windows 7 SP1 or later
Microsoft® .NET framework 4.6; a current version of .NET will be installed if needed
A video card that supports OpenGL version 1.3 or later to view 3-D terrain

This is:
Qualcomm(R) Adreno(TM) 680 GPU

Which is actually chinese for me. :-)

Can you help me once again verify if this is possible to run Basecamp?

Ensure you're downloading from the official Garmin site as there are lots of dubious downloads out there.

I am downloading on the official website. I know this problem is known before but still looking for a manner to let this download. :-(

Could you elaborate on these messages? What happens when you try to open? Another error message? I also have a Microsoft Surface and have not had any issues.

Also, to SUSSAMB's point, googling "Garmin Basecamp" will result in several top 10 sites that are not garmin.com. Suggest going to garmin.com then in the search box (top/right corner) entering "basecamp." Just to be sure.

If issues persist, suggest directly contacting Garmin Product Support.

It starts downloading but at the end there is a message that installation was failed because one or more problems. Try to resolve the problems and retry to install. And then: 0x80070643 - irreparable falt during setup.

No more information. :-(

The GPSrChive website is a reliable download source: https://www.gpsrchive.com/BaseCamp/index.htm You might want to try installing a previous version - 4.6.2 which was a long standing stable version of BC, which some still use in preference to 4.7.3.
