Basecamp files on Windows computer with 2 accounts

I installed Basecamp 4.7.3 on my Windows 10 machine using Windows "account 1"

When I log onto the same computer using "account 2", I can launch Basecamp but can no longer access the various routes that I created using "account 1".

How can I access the routes from either Windows account?

  • You'll need to find a way to access the BaseCamp data from Account 1.  The files you need are named AllData.gdb and FolderData.gfi

  • I have copied the "4.7" folder from "account 1" to the "account 2" folder and I can now access the route data.

However I (still) have a prompt that says "Locked maps detected" (to be clear this message was present on "account 2" before I copied the files).

There are two maps listed:  "City Navigator North America NT 2021.1" and  "City Navigator North America NT 2021.2".

There is a button labelled "Unlock Maps" however when I click this, another window pops up "Map Product Manager" that lists two "locked" maps and two "not lockable" maps.

Unfortunately, there is nothing further to do.  The only prompt is to "close" the window.

The only map I have displayed is high level with no secondary road detail.  I still cannot access the map detail.

  • You'll probably need to run Express while in Account 2 and download the maps again. Never tried to run BC on 2 Windows accounts so there may be another way but I have no idea how.

  • To unlock the map for account 2, you need to copy the gma file(s) from "<account 1>\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Maps" folder to "<account 2>\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Maps" folder.
Maybe you'll need to create the "<account 2>\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Maps" folder.
