converting my routes into trips

Hi there,

im hping for some heklp and tips , i have had my zumo 660 for ten years and just got a zumo 396 and need to convert all my old routes into "trips" for the new unit . but hit the issue that "more than 29 via points split into 5 trips"

these routes are easily used as a large trip on older unit , how do i convert them to work the same way in the new unit ?

    Newer units only accept 30 viapoints in a route.  However newer units also allow many more points called shaping points, these are points that aren't announced when you ride, unlike viapoints that are announced.  If you open the route properties in BaseCamp and right click on a point in the route you will see the options to either set them to alert or not.  You can also bulk select points and set the selection to do not alert or vice versa.  I only use viapoints rather than shaping points if it is a point that I specifically want to know about, eg a coffee or fuel stop.  Hope that helps in your conversion Slight smile

    Thank you very much this is a big help , I have found the option you suggested , is there a bulk edit ? i can only select one at a time.

    these routes were recorded as tracks originally so there a LOT of points...

    Just use Windows controls to group select as you would normally, so shift + click or ctrl + click as appropriate. Once you've made your selection right click the selection.

    ill have to try again with fresh eyes , i tried that and the option to not alert went away ..
