Where do i put GPX files in the 1030 plus GPS

for future navigation ?

In the GPX folder

For the Edge models (any i0f them, except really old ones earlier than the 800) put files (gpx, fit, tcx) in \Garmin\NewFiles

Note that files that you want to use as a course need to be tracks.

If you create a route in BaseCamp, you want to create a track using the "create track" button on the bottom of the route property page/window and export the just the track that gets created.

Thanks for that, forgot the Edge models are different like that.

I have an 830 and if my Edge is connected (USB) when Basecamp is open, all I need to do is drag the track "into" the Edge on the Library View window. Basecamp takes care of placing the track file in the \Newfiles directory automatically.
