More BaseCamp 4.7.3 Disaster - FIT Activities displayed as GPX Tracks

Just noticed BaseCamp 4.7.3 is displaying activities as tracks when I connect my GPSMAP 66s. This is a huge problem as I do not want to see activities in BaseCamp, I only want to see tracks, which is all I expect to see when I filter for 'Tracks Only'.

Worse yet, there is no way to determine which is which from within BaseCamp, and I do not have the time to manually delete every FIT file the GPSMAP 66s firmware FORCES ME TO RECORD.

Please resolve immediately.

  • Yes, when I first noticed this I thought maybe I had accidently changed something in BaseCamp or on my 66st.  But it had shown up when I installed the latest version of BaseCamp so that should have been my first suspicion.  And yes it is very annoying. I import lots of tracks from my 66 and now I see doubles in my 66 when plugged in.  You can tell which is which only in two ways that I have found.  If you look at the track properties, the ones without movement data seem to always be the fit files.  Otherwise, there is a slight difference in how BaseCamp puts the timestamp on the file.   I would think having a BaseCamp setting to avoid seeing the fit activities if you don't want them would be best for me. And having a setting on the 66 that allows you to turn off recording fit might also be good,  Right now the only choices are "fit only" or "gpx and fit". But we would need control both on the GPSr and in BaseCamp.  That is because even if I got a heart monitor or something and wanted to record fit activities, I would use the fit files in Connect maybe but not in BaseCamp.
