Only half of my track is uploaded to my device as a route

I have been on a 3.6 mile walk today and created a track using my Etrex 25. On returning home, I have connected my device and converted the track to a route on Basecamp.

On Basecamp on the computer the route looks correct and when I select the route it says it is 3.6miles. When I disconnect my device however and go to the same route it only shows half of the route and says it is 1.8 miles.

Is it something I am doing or does this sound like a fault ? I have converted many tracks previously using exactly the same method without issue.

How many points are in the route? Your device can only show the first 250 points.

After hours of playing I finally resolved this, and it is to do with number of points - When I tried to start the walk, the device gave me the error message that 50 is the max number of points for a road, (there were actually 74) - and the second half of the walk was on a road. I repeated the process of converting track to route but set the max points to 50 and it has done it - although it has shortened the walk a little to 3 miles so I guess has cut corners somewhere. I have done much longer walks than this without such an issue but this is the first time I have mixed road and off-road so I think that is where the problem lies. Thanks.

If you're using on road routing then yes it's 50, as you're walking you really ought to use the off road setting where as I posted the limit is 250 points
