Zumo 395lm wont find waypoints on routes set up in BC via Trip Planner. Although if you go past them it will redirect you back to them. This means you end up going round in circles.
I'm thinking the 395 does not have the correct Position Format set up? It has the correct Datum for NZ (WGS84) but doesn't have the specific NZ Coordinate Format on its list (NZTM2000). I have tried setting it to h ddd mm.mmm (Garmin default), MGRS, and UTM to no avail.
It's like unless you pass over the EXACT position of the waypoint the GPS won't find it and that's the end of your route.
I wonder if it could be a BC problem in that although I'm trying to place waypoints where I can connect with them, Base camp is locating them slightly off the actual route....it seems like it is?
Garmin AU sent me a link to update the firmware which didn't fix it, they subsequently washed their hands of it as they say it's out of warranty. It's 2 1/2 years old and cost almost $900.00 NZ. I had a 550 prior to this and should have kept it!
Does anyone have any idea if I'm on the right track or what the problem might otherwise be? The unit has the latest firmware and map updates.
Any help appreciated.
