Sending Basecamp View to Google Earth.

Until an hour ago I could send a view area to an open Google Earth (an older version I dont remember the version) from Basecamp 4.6.2, then that feature stopped working. I then download Google 7.1.8 and again I cannot send the Basecamp view in Google Earth. All I want to do it send the Basecamp view to Google Earth. Can that still be done with an older version of Google Earth.  If so where can i download that version older then 7.1.8?

Thank you!

  • See the sticky at the top of the thread, I've now given up trying to keep the link going between BaseCamp and GE

  • I read that.  I didn't realize street-view meant the "View Google Earth" in BC was related. as all I want to do was zoom into the same area as BC displays.    I was able to install BC2GE and can do the same thing.  BC2GE seems to add several duplicate waypoints for each one I've created which makes it confusing to view in GE.  I've emailed the author for help to understand what I may be doing wrong.

So that this point, these years of not upgrading GE are done and I'm forced to now.

How about BC upgrade?  WIll I lose functions when upgraded from 4.6.2 to 4.7.3.  Seems the only reason I didn't was for the GE view function.

    Thanks for providing GE update!

  • Sorry, no idea. 4.6.2 does what I want so sticking with it.

  • Basecamp 4.6.2 with GE pro 7.1.8.3036 (32-bit) should still work, I think, but without street-view.  It was working for me a couple of days ago before I made the jump and upgraded everything to latest levels, however, you need to enter some /regsrv commands in admin mode for the link between BC and GE to work, see: http://www.poi-factory.com/node/48174 or forums.garmin.com/.../google-earth

Eventually, this will no longer work.

    Good luck

P.S. I really wish Garmin would reconsider this, but, I would be really surprised for a 'end-of-development' product like Basecamp.
