Using a Basecamp route on my Zumo satnav, when I miss a waypoint/shaping point the satnav tries to loop me back round until I pass that point. How can I make the sat nav ignore a missed point and allow me to move on to the next point?

Your satnav will only continue to insist you visit the point if it's a viapoint, if it's a shaping point then eventually it'll be ignored. You don't say which Zumo, but most allow you to skip a viapoint or shaping point. Tap the spanner icon bottom right then select 'Change route'
Zumo 340LM
Then like I posted ... see page 7 of the manual.
So, creating a route with start and finish points, and then inserting points to modify the route, what are those points, waypoints or shaping point?
And creating a route with a point to point method, what are those points called?
Thanks

Assuming you're talking about BaseCamp when you've created the route open the route properties. Shaping points will be marked as do not alert, viapoints as alert on arrival. You can change them by right clicking the point and selecting the appropriate option. You may benefit from reading this tutorial www.newenglandriders.org/.../
